Employment Tutor
Parkhouse Bell is urgently recruiting for an Employability Tutor to work for a Training Provider within the Welfare to Work sector.
Location Tameside
Salary - £22,000 - £24,000
The successful candidate will be an outgoing and approachable person who can work both on their own initiative and within a team to deliver basic skills training and support to unemployed and disadvantaged people. Good presentation and communication skills are essential, coupled with an ability to support participants jobsearch and skills development activities
Your duties will include
1. Deliver tailored delivery programmes to enable learners to increase their skills levels and progress to a positive destination as per the requirements of the contract.
2. Work with the team of Employment Brokers and employers to develop Sector Focused programs leading where possible to guaranteed interviews and sustained job entries.
3. Carry out assessments on the job readiness and skills levels of clients to enable tailored training and support to be offered and delivered.
4. Deliver structured training programs and workshops designed to improve the employability of clients.
5. Assist clients in the preparation and updating of CVs and self-marketing material.
6. Coach and support clients through jobsearch techniques.
7. Provide clients with impartial information, advice and guidance to help them make informed decisions about which option they may wish to undertake and how they can achieve their goals.
8. Ensure that clients records are maintained and kept up-to-date.
9. Ensure that contractual requirements are being met and appropriate records are produced.
10. Achieve agreed individual and team targets in relation to starts, attendance, retention, appropriate and timely achievement and learner progression.
11. Liaise with referral bodies and other departments to assist in monitoring and processing of client details and information.
12. Liaise with sub-contractor and delivery partners to ensure clients obtain the best possible opportunities and service.
13. Matching clients to suitable employment and progression opportunities and encouraging them to fully engage in the attainment of sustainable employment.
You will be working with customers who are long term unemployed job seekers, most of which have additional barriers to employment eg ex-offenders, single parents, homeless, lack of confidence etc. all of which have been out of work for at least 6 months, but in most cases a lot longer.
If you do not have experience in any of the above duties you will not be considered for this position.
